In September, the Indian government added 118 Chinese mobile apps to its list of restricted apps, claiming that they are "prejudicial to India's sovereignty and integrity, defense, security, and public order."

54 Chinese app to be banned in India again. India's national security has announced to ban the apps. This includes some of the top games and tools from some of the best Chinese Service Providers.

Ban list includes the "Garena Free Fire", which is backed by Tencent. Other banned apps include 'Sweet Selfie HD', Beauty Camera,’ ‘Viva Video Editor,’ ‘AppLock,’ and ‘Dual Space Lite.’ India's National Security banned some of the top apps like "Tiktok" & "PUBG" which was the most popular apps among youngster. Including 116 Chinese apps more in the year 2020. 

The prohibition appears to have had the greatest impact on 'Garena Free Fire.' In India, the game has around 40 million monthly active users. This accounts for a sizable portion of the game's 75 million global gamers.

Indians spent 655 billion hours on their phones in 2021, according to a recent App Annie analysis. This includes over 9 billion gaming downloads, making India one of the largest app and game markets in the world.

Most of the apps and games are rebranded versions of the apps banned last year. This means the developer changed their names only and launched on the playstore.
