Gmail is the Fourth Most Installed App to Hit 10 Billion on Android
Google Play Service app was the most installed app to hit 10 billion.
Just recently, Gmail on Android has become the fourth app to hit 10 billion installs after other three apps; Google Play Services, YouTube, and Google Maps. The 10 billion plus installs on Android was first detected by Android Police.
Google had launched its email service in April 2004 and since then Gmail has been the most popular on the internet. The main reason behind Gmail’s popularity lies in innovative features and updates added to it.
Gmail’s Recent Cool Features
- UNDO SEND
Among many latest features, the recent one is Undo Send feature which helps users to recall email within different time frames. The Undo Send feature offers users to undo a mistakenly sent email within numerous time frames as 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 20 seconds, or 30 seconds. Before this feature, Gmail had only 5 second window recall to undo a sent message. This very feature is available on both web and mobile applications.
- BLOCK UNKNOWN NUMBERS ON ANDROID PHONE
Other than Undo Send, Gmail also recently introduced its Google Chat in Gmail that allows users to make 1:1 audio and video calls. The functionality update is especially designed for application platforms as Android and iOS. The call feature can only be used with one available individual user from the chat list. The chat history as missed or ongoing calls can be retained from chat roster on Gmail.
